| Sitting atop what was once a barren hillside of weedy hay and
multi-flora rose, Oakcrest Farms is now home to extensive
perennial and water gardens. From late March until mid July,
you can find Brenda out planting, weeding, digging, watering and
tending her plants. She also maintains two water gardens: a
3,000 gallon goldfish pond and a 7,000 gallon Koi pond.
Every square available inch of ground is planted with perennials,
including over 800 Iris surrounding the pool, and 2 acres of
natural Illinois wildflowers.
